Poly(trimethylene carbonate-co-caprolactone) (PTMC-co-PCL) is a copolymer composed of the monomers trimethylene carbonate and caprolactone. PTMC-co-PCL is a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer that has a range of potential applications in the biomedical and pharmaceutical industries and is commonly used as a material for medical devices, 3D printing, tissue engineering scaffolds, and drug delivery. The biodegradation rate of PTMC-co-PCL is influenced by the molecular weight and monomer ratio. Higher amounts of trimethylene carbonate result in a faster biodegradation rate, whereas higher amounts of caprolactone result in a slower biodegradation rate. The monomer ratio can be adjusted to achieve specific biodegradation rates and tailor the material to the intended application.
